Skanska lays foundation for second office project in Romania

22 May 2017

Swedish company Skanska, which has developed the Green Court office complex in the north of Bucharest, last week laid the foundation for its second office project in Bucharest called Campus 6.

The project is located in the Politehnica area, in the central-western part of Bucharest, which is considered the city’s new office pole. It is built on the former industrial platform Pumac.

The project’s first building will be completed in the fall of next year, with an investment of almost EUR 38 million.

"Six months after the completion of the first building, we will start the second phase. The entire project will be completed in 2020," said Aurelia Luca, Skanska Property Romania country manager.

The company is negotiating with potential tenants, and the first contracts will be signed towards the end of this year.

The area has other important office buildings. For example, Israeli developer AFI Europe Romania has built five office buildings near the Politehnica metro station, next to its AFI Cotroceni mall. Not far from there, three other new office projects are under construction.

The developments will lead to more intense traffic in the area. The area is attractive for companies in the IT&C sector, which find it easier to recruit students from the Polytechnic University.
