Runners from 65 countries expected at the Bucharest Half Marathon this weekend

More than 14,000 runners from 65 countries will participate in the competitions of the 2017 Bucharest Half Marathon, which will take place in the Romanian capital this weekend.

According to Valeria Racila van Groningen, the president of Bucharest Running Club Association – the organizer of the event, elite athletes from African countries will also participate in the event, reports local Agerpres.

The 2017 Bucharest Half Marathon will take place on May 13 and May 14, the central point of the event being Constitutiei Square. The event includes the individual half marathon, as well as races for kids and teenagers, the popular race, and a relay race. More information and maps can be found here.

The half marathon will also bring traffic restrictions in the area this weekend. The event will be broadcast live on the competition’s website – bucuresti21km.ro/live and on the event’s Facebook page - facebook.com/Bucharest21km/.

Last year’s edition of the event brought more than 13,000 runners from over 60 countries to Bucharest.
