Romania’s team wins European Young Welders Competition in the UK

Romania’s team won the first place at the WeldCUP – European Young Welders Competition organized on October 21 in Cambridge, the UK. Germany’s team won the second place while the UK ranked third.

The Romanian team was made of Adrian Gheorghita, Marius Daniel Neagu and Stefan Nichifor, all of them from Galati. They’ve managed to finish the task one hour earlier than the time stipulated in the competition, perfectly welding a complex set of pipes, reports local Digi24.

Although welding is becoming increasingly more popular in Romania, many vocational schools no longer have this profession in their program. Thus, although a beginner can get a salary of up to RON 2,000 (some EUR 450) in Romania, companies still have problems in recruiting specialists.
