Romanians spend 22 times more on phones than on education
A Romanian household spent on average RON 48 (EUR 10.4) on education and RON 1,088 (EUR 236) on phone services last year, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS), reports local Agerpres.
A household spent on average RON 94 (EUR 20.4) on electricity per month and around RON 56 (EUR 12.2) on natural gas. The health expenses reached RON 26.26 (EUR 5.7) per month.
Only 30.2% of the Romanian households afforded to buy new clothes last year whereas only 18.1% of the households afforded a one-week holiday. Some 13.3% acquired home appliances and 11.7% went to theatre or cinema shows, according to INS.
A third of the Romanian households didn’t pay their utilities on time last year.
