Romanian elected in a leadership position within the Union Cycliste Internationale

14 November 2017

Eduard Carol Novak, the only Paralympian in the history of Romania and the president of the Romanian Cycling Federation, was elected a member of the Para-cycling Commision of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).

He is the first Romanian in a leadership position within UCI.

“It is a great honor for me and for the cycling in Romania. Over the years, very few people in the Balkans have come to important positions in the UCI, so I consider my appointment the proof that we are on the right track. I have gained enough experience in this area to be able to come up with constructive solutions,” Novak said.

Eduard Carol Novak will supervise and coordinate the organization of competitions for people with disabilities alongside Mohammed Ben El Mah (Morocco), Marianna Davis (US), Edilson Alves Rocha (Brazil), Alejandro Garcia (Spain), Roberto Rancilio (Italy), and Colin Lynch (Ireland).
