Romanian breaks the law ten hours after being released on parole

19 January 2018

A Romanian man has managed to break the law just ten hours after being released from prison on parole.

The 33-year-old man from Tatarani commune, Dambovita county, had been released conditionally from the Ploiesti Penitentiary on January 17, after having served two years and seven months of a sentence he had received for aggravated theft, local News.ro reported.

However, the man has enjoyed freedom for a very short period, as he was detained in yet another theft case.

On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, he entered the garage of a man in Tatarani and is now suspected of having stolen GBP 400 and RON 150 from the car parked there. The police caught him shortly after that, and arrested him for 24 hours. He may now spend the next 30 days in jail if the court approves the prosecutors’ request in this sense.
