Romanian song: Masa pentru doi by byron [and bonus tracks]

14 March 2014

Table for two. This is how the name of this song translates. A love story song, as the name suggests, with powerful, yet seemingly light lyrics.

It's not one of byron's most popular songs (yes, byron, not Byron!), but it is a soothing one, and a simple one – only the essential sounds can be heard on this one. It's good for a mental cleanse after listening to lots of commercial music. It can also be listened to on the soundtrack of a HBO Romania film - more about it, here.

Byron are a famous Romanian band, and we've featured them before in this column – perhaps not often enough. They are a progressive/alternative rock band founded in 2006. Its members are Dan Byron - vocals, flute, guitar; 6fingers - keyboards, guitar, vocals; László Demeter – bass; Dan Georgescu – drums.

Most of their songs are in English – and we chose to feature two of our favorite below, to make up for not having listened to byron as often as we should have.
