19 August 2015

Romania’s Mamaia seaside resort will host Triathlon Challenge Mamaia between September 4 and September 6. This is the largest such event in Eastern Europe and the Balkans, with total prizes of EUR 31,000.

Amateur and professional athletes can sign up for one of the competition’s three individual races: the Supersprint race (400 m swim + 10 km bike + 2.5 km run), the Sprint race (750m swim + 20 km bike + 5 km run), and the Olympic race (1,500 m swim + 40 km bike + 10 km run). There are also two team races, namely the Sprint Relay race (750 m swim + 20 km bike + 5 km run), and the Olympic Relay race (1500 m swim + 40 km bike + 10 km run).

Children aged between 9 and 12 can compete in the Aquatlon race (200 m swim, 1.25 km run), or the Duatlon race (1.25 km run, 5 km bike, 1.25 km run). There is also a special race for the athletes’ families, friends, and colleagues: the Beach Run with a length of 4 km.

Registration can be made on the competition’s website until August 31.

The event will also include the Triathlon Premium European Cup, one of the three premium events organized annually in Europe. This year, the organizers chose Romania’s Mamaia and Holten (the Netherlands) for two of these competitions.
