Romanian seaside 24h marathon supports the rights of people with disabilities

Over 2,000 people are expected to take part in the 24-hour ultra-marathon “I Run 24h Autism Black Sea.” The sport event is set for May 5, beginning 10:00, in the Mamaia resort, on the Romanian Black Sea coast.

The ultra-marathon promotes the rights of the people with disabilities to be integrated in the community.

The participants will run a distance of 3 kilometers, day and night, continuously, in the loop of the track. The team gathering most kilometers will be declared the winner. In order to enter the race, every team captain needs to gather at least 20 other people. Enrollments can be done here.

The organizer of the event is psychologist Adrian Gemănaru, who got the idea for the event after running a 100 km marathon in France, which financed a project for children diagnosed with disorders of the autism spectrum.
