Romanian OMV Petrom to deliver gas to Moldova starting January

OMV Petrom, the largest oil and gas company in Romania, signed an agreement with Energocom in the Republic of Moldova for the delivery of gas starting January 1, 2015, through the Iasi-Ungheni pipeline, sources close to the talks told local Mediafax.

The contract was signed for a period of one year, according to the sources.

The Iasi-Ungheni pipeline was inaugurated earlier this year, is 43 kilometers long and has a maximum capacity of 1.5 billion cubic meters per year, which is more than Moldova’s annual gas consumption.
