Romanian consumer confidence goes up in H1

Romanians’ consumer confidence improved in the first two quarters of this year, reaching an index of 101, up 15 points compared to the last three months of 2016, according to the Nielsen Consumer Confidence Index survey.

The average consumer confidence index reached 104 worldwide, up three percentage points compared to the last quarter of 2016, reports local Agerpres. The highest levels of confidence indices were recorded in Asian markets. The level of confidence was also high in most markets in Europe and Latin America.

The consumer confidence has improved in Eastern Europe in a series of markets, including Romania, Slovenia, Estonia, Bulgaria or Hungary. In Romania, 51% of the respondents said that their job prospects were good or excellent, compared to 35% in the last quarter of the year.
