Romania’s Government announced yesterday it would set up a single registry of companies active in the defense sector.

The registry will also include defense production capacities and services.

The Economy Ministry will organize and manage this registry, according to the Government.

Defense companies can enter this registry if they are based in Romania, carry out at least one activity related to the defense industry and own one or more capacities. Moreover, the companies need to get a permit from national security institutions.

The shareholders who own at least 10% in these companies can’t have final corruption-related court sentences.
