Romania and Israel want to strengthen partnership in tourism sector

Romanian minister of tourism Bogdan Trif and his Israeli counterpart E.S. Yariv Levin discussed on Wednesday, May 16, ways to strengthen the two countries’ partnership in the tourism sector.

Their meeting took place at the headquarters of the Romanian Ministry of Tourism.

Romanian minister Trif proposed the organization of events to promote Romania as a tourist destination in Israel. These include a seminar for representatives of the central authorities and the most important Israeli tour operators, according to a press release from the Romanian Ministry of Tourism.

“On the occasion of this meeting, Minister Bogdan Trif found that Israel is developing, at the same time as our country, an electronic tourist guide in the form of an interactive digital map in which all tourist attractions are highlighted. The two officials have agreed that the two countries exchange information and good practices for developing promotional apps,” reads the press release.

Meanwhile, minister Yariv Levin stressed the need to increase the number of direct flights between Romania and Israel. Also, the two officials analyzed the opportunity to develop common routes to attract tourists from distant Asian markets in Romania and Israel.
