Romania exports 14 million liters of wine in one year

Romania exported almost 14 million liters of wine worth EUR 24 million last year, according to data from the Wine Exporters' Association (WEPA) Romania.

The five largest export markets for the locally produced wines include the UK, Germany, China, the Netherlands, and Bulgaria.

About 78% of the entire volume, namely 11 million liters worth EUR 17 million, was sold to markets in Europe. Outside the European space, China is the most important export country for the Romanian wines, followed by the US, which imports 800,000 liters from Romania, and Canada, with 300,000 liters of wine.

Best price based on the number of liters exported is provided by Finland, which pays EUR 5.63 for a liter of Romanian wine. At the other end, Israel pays the lowest price for Romanian wine, namely EUR 1.38 per liter.
