Romania’s natural gas consumption declined by 6% in the first five months of 2014, compared to the same period last year, to 63.2 million MWh, according to data from Romania’s Energy Authority (ANRE).

The consumption was 96% covered from internal production which largely came from OMV Petrom and Romgaz, Romania’s largest oil and gas companies. Imports represented just 3.8% of the consumption. The price of gas varied between USD 251 and USD 390 for 1,000 cubic meters.
