The recent discovery of a new species of dinosaurs in Alba county in Romania soon triggered the idea of a dinosaur museum in the Western Romanian city of Cluj - Napoca. Matei Vremir (Vremir Matyas), the Cluj – Napoca based paleontologist who discovered the stocky dragon skeleton in Alba county, has already been contacted by several museums in the world, among which the Natural History Museum in New York, interested in receiving copies of the skeleton discovered by the Romanian

Over 60 percent of Romanians would send their children to study abroad, according to a research conducted by the Romanian Institute for Evaluation and Strategies. According to the poll, 61 percent of Romanians have a bad opinion about the Romanian education system and only 36 percent trust it. The poll also shows that 61 percent of respondents would send their children to study abroad.

Romania has reported one more West Nile virus infection-related death, bringing the number of fatalities to three, and nine new infections, bring the total number of cases to 34, the Health Ministry said Monday. The latest victim is a 64 year-old man, who also suffered from chronic illnesses. The previous two victims were also elderly and suffered from chronic illnesses.

Romania won 27 medals and special awards at the tenth edition of the Moscow International Salon of Innovations and Investments for the 20 inventions showcased by the National Authority for Scientific Research (ANCS). Romanian inventors won seven special awards, eight gold medals, nine silver medals and three bronze medals.

Romanian media owner Sorin Ovidiu Vantu (in picture) was arrested for 29 days, after being initially set to be detained for only 24 hours on Thursady, being accused in the case of Nicolae Popa, former head of bankrupt FNI's brokerage firm, who has fled the country. The trial where his 29-day arrest was decided was held late at night on Thursday.
