New heat wave hits Romania

Romania’s National Weather Authority – ANM has issued a code yellow for heat for the whole country, valid on Monday, August 31, and Tuesday, September 1. This means that air temperatures will frequently reach 35-37 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, causing heat stress.

Ten counties in western and eastern Romania will be under code orange for intense heat in the next two days, as temperatures in these regions will reach 37-38 degrees and the heat stress will be higher.

The weather in Romania will likely remain hot until the end of this week.
