Lives of families who live in Bucharest’s Vacaresti Delta, captured in photo exhibition

A new photography exhibition opened earlier this week (February 17) in Bucharest, focusing on the stories of seven families who live in the ‘Vacaresti Pit’ – now the national Vacaresti Delta park. Photographer Cristian Munteanu opened his exhibition Life and death in Văcăreşti Pit at a photo concept store in Bucharest.

“I went there, on the one hand, because the subject was rich in terms of photography: capturing everyday life of the last people who lived in the area before it became a national park and before they had to leave. On the other hand, I wanted to bring the story of these families to the attention of those who could help them with anything. My pictures tell the stories of life and death of these people, during that time.” said Cristian Munteanu.
