13 February 2017

The Italian restaurant Cucina within the five-star hotel JW Marriott in Bucharest is addressing expats and Romanians alike with its newly launched Saturday shared lunch concept.

Named Grandma’s Table, the concept brings together guests sharing the same table and a fixed menu, in a family - like setting that would help both expats and Romanians make new friends and socialize.

Grandma’s Table is available at Cucina every Saturday from 1 PM to 4.30 PM, for RON 120 (EUR 27) per person, including full menu and water.

For the kickoff edition on February 11, the menu included bruschetta, Burrata e San Daniele, antipasti misto, vegetable flan with Pecorino sauce, deep fry prawns with garlic mayo, Cacciucco classico alla livornese and potatoes, leak and pancetta soup, penne arrabbiata, lasagna Bolognese, Risotto with pumpkin, pancetta and pecorino, sea food tagliatelle, ravioli di burrata in truffle sauce, grilled beef tenderloin, grilled seabass, chicken saltimbocca, salmon skewer, assorted pizzas, and sharing platters of Italian desserts.

The menu and concept were created by Italian chef Alessandro Breddo, himself a Florence – born expat in Romania.
