Swedish retailer H&M continues expansion in Romania with three new stores this month

Swedish retailer H&M, which entered the local market at the end of March this year, will open three new stores in Romania in November. The first unit will open on November 1 in Bucharest’s Sun Plaza shopping center, followed on November 24 by the new store in Lotus Center Oradea, and Maritimo Shopping Center Constanta, where the new store will open on November 25.

The retailer's first store in Romania was in AFI Palace Cotroceni shopping center in the capital city, followed by the ones opened in Unirea Shopping Center, Baneasa Shopping City, and Bucuresti Mall in Bucharest, and Unirea Shopping Center Brasov.

H&M posted sales of EUR 21 million between March-September 2011 in Romania, according to the company.

H&M was founded in Sweden in 1947 and is listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm. H&M Group has over 2,300 stores on 41 markets, including stores opened in the franchise system.
