Second session of Baccalaureat exam begins for 100,000 candidates in Romania

The Baccalaureat 2011 autumn session began earlier today with the oral communication test in Romanian language and literature, and in native language. Over 100,000 candidates have registered for the second session of the Bacalaureat, and are distributed in 295 examination centers.

The Bacalaureat exam will finish on September 2, 2011, and, according to the methodology, the exam results will be displayed on September 4, 2011, when appeals may also be filed. The deadline for resolving the appeals will be between September 5 to 6, 2011, while the final results of the Bacalaureat examination, second session, will be displayed on September 7, 2011.

Romanian students who finish high school must take the Bacalaureat exam in order to graduate and to be able to go to college. Only 45.7 percent of the Romanian students passed the first session of the Bacalaureat exam, which was the worst result for the exam in the last 20 years, according to the Ministry of Education.
