Romanian car parts market to exceed EUR 1 bln this year as more cars go out of warranty

23 June 2011

The Romanian car parts market is expected to increase by 4 to 5 percent this year, to over EUR 1 billion, from EUR 950 million recorded in 2010, mainly due to the cars bought three or four years ago, that will go out of the warranty, said Haralambie Stanciu, president of Car Parts Distributors Association in Romania (ADPAR).

“We are basically in the moment when most of the cars purchased three to four years are going out of warranty”, said Haralambie Stanciu. “For 2011, ADPAR estimates that the national car parts market will grow by 4 to 5 percent,  based on the overgrowth in the segment that the European Association of Car Parts Suppliers calls "Independent Aftermarket Manufacturers", representing parts produced by independent producers”, he added.

The Car Parts Distributors Association of Romania was founded in February 2010 and has 23 members.
