Romanian Andrei Rosu runs Chile marathon for Hospice Casa Sperantei

24 November 2010

Romanian Andrei Rosu, who aims to run seven marathons on seven continents, will be representing Hospice Casa Sperantei Charity at the Pacific Coast Marathon in Chile, on December 5. This is Rosu's fourth marathon on the list, after the North Pole one, the Australian one and the one in Istanbul in October. Rosu has started running for the Hospice from October, beginning with his Istanbul marathon, and will dedicate the next four ones to the foundation. A special race will be organized for Hospice Casa Sperantei.

The aim of this fund-raising event is to raise 10,000 British pounds, which will fund Hospice programs.  Andrei's upcoming marathons are the Antarctic Ice Marathon, on December 12, the Sahara Marathon, on February 28, 2011, the Everest Marathon, on May 29, 2011 and Mayor’s Marathon Alaska, on June 18, 2011.  To donate for this campaign, go here or here.

“I have never been a brave man. But I ran my first marathon at the North Pole. I have never been an endurance athlete. But I am running 7 marathons on 7 continents. I have never been a millionaire. But I plan to raise million for charity. My name is Andrei Rosu. On December 5th, 2010 I will run the Pacific Marathon in Chile, 13.000 km away from home,” says Andrei Rosu.  Read more about him in our recent article here.

Hospice Casa Sperantei provides specialist care to children and adults with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. The Hospice was set up by Graham Perolls in 1992 and was initially active in Brasov. Every year the Hospice organizes a charity ball called Floare de Colt (Edelweiss).
