Update - Coronavirus pandemic: Romania introduces 14-day quarantine for travelers from Spain

10 August 2020

Romania’s National Institute of Public Health has updated the “yellow list” of countries with major epidemiological risk due to the high number of cases of coronavirus infection, adding Spain to this list, according to News.ro.

Thus, travelers arriving in Romania from Spain will be required to go into quarantine for 14 days, starting August 11 at midnight.

Update: The National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU) decided to take Spain out of the "yellow list." Further details here.

Other countries on the “yellow list” are Luxembourg, the US, Argentina, Brazil, Israel, and Montenegro. The updated list published by the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) can be found here.

Those coming to Romania from these countries can quarantine at home or at another location that they have to declare to the authorities, or as the case may be, in a special space designated by the authorities. “Quarantine is recommended for all people who live at the same address,” INSP said.

The list is updated every week.
