Pharmaceutical company Zentiva posts 13% growth in profit in first half

Pharmaceutical company Zentiva posted a profit of EUR 7.2 million (RON 30.5 million) in the first half of 2011 in Romania, 13 percent higher than the one recorded in the same period last year. The company's turnover decreased by 4.7 percent to EUR 28.9 million (RON 120.9 million), compared to EUR 30.3 million (RON 126.9 million) recorded in the same period in 2010.

Zentiva had a total revenues of EUR 32.4 million (RON 135.6 million) in the first six months, with 3 percent higher than the amount reported in the same period last year. The company's total expenses reached EUR 23.6 million (RON 98.8 million), down one percent compared to 2010.

Zentiva is part of the Sanofi – Aventis group. The company runs production units in Romania, Turkey, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
