Rewe Romania, part of the German group of the same name and the operator of the discount chain Penny, developed a partnership with Auto Total, the leading car parts distribution group in Romania, for launching home delivery services, Economica.net reported.

In the beginning, the services will be available to the customers in Bucharest and Ilfov county.

Penny thus joins the group of retailers that offer home delivery services and operate online hypermarkets such as Carrefour, Kaufland, Auchan, Cora, and Mega Image.

According to a press release, the service will be available starting this month. Customers can choose from about 1,400 products listed in physical stores.

"We have learned to adapt continuously, and Lyvra is an example. The development of the Lyvra online shopping platform comes as a result of rapid changes that have affected global trade and urged customers to take strict measures to protect their health, especially by minimizing contact with other people," said Daniel Gross, General Manager Penny / Rewe Romania.

Penny operates 264 stores nationwide and three logistics centers located in Ștefăneștii de Jos, Turda and Bacău.
