Mio Technology Romania: summer contributes with 35% to annual GPS sales

GPS navigation devices manufacturer Mio Technology estimates that the summer holidays brought more than a third of the total annual sales of GPS systems on the Romanian market, according to the company. The company sold 9,500 units during this period, and considers that the Romanian GPS market will reach 60,000 units this year, with 10 percent more compared with 2010.

“July was the peak in sales of navigation systems for the local market. The whole summer period, when customers prepare their holidays and go on trips, contributed with about 35 percent to the total sales made in a year on the GPS devices market”, said Laura Samson (in picture), Country Director Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic for Mio Technology.

Mio Technology in Romania relies on an increase in market share to 50 percent, a growth to be supported by the launch of new range of GPS equipment.

Mio Technology was founded in 2002 and has operations in Taiwan, China, Europe, North America, Australia, Japan and South Korea. The company has over 1,700 employees worldwide and sells its products in over 58 countries.
