Metrorex to expand Line 4 with two more stations for around EUR 89 mln

Metrorex, the metro network operator in Bucharest, has recently published the notice of intention to organize a bid for works at tunnels, galleries forLaminorului and Straulesti underground stations, in order to expand the metro transport network with two new stations on Line 4. The estimated value is around EUR 89 million, with funding provided by the state budget.

The metro Line 4 currently has four stations, Gara de Nord 2, Basarab 2 Griviţa and 1 Mai, and in July another two will be put into service, Pajura and Parc Bazilescu.

The Bucharest metro network has a length of 67 kilometers, divided into four lines that have 49 stations in total.
