Romanian Language Day celebrated online this year
Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) offices worldwide will celebrate the Romanian Language Day on August 31, with various events that will be streamed online on their Facebook pages.
The list of events includes exhibitions, Romanian music and poetry recitals, and Romanian language courses, Agerpres reported.
For example, artists from Moldova have prepared a special show for Monday, August 31, which combines music and poetry. The show will start at 11:00 and will be streamed live on the Facebook page of ICR Chisinau.
Another performance, called "The piano with poems," will be streamed on Sunday, August 30, on the Facebook page and the YouTube channel of ICR Istanbul. Pianist Ioana Maria Lupascu and actress Daniela Nane have recorded a piano and poetry recital, especially for this occasion.
Meanwhile, on August 31, several members of EUNIC Portugal will recite, in Romanian, the poem "Ce te legeni? ..." by Mihai Eminescu. The event will take place on the Facebook and Instagram pages of ICR Lisbon. The video will be subtitled in Portuguese.
Romanian actress Anamaria Marinca will also recite poems by Ana Blandiana, in Romanian and English. The event is scheduled for Monday and will take place on the Facebook page and the YouTube channel of ICR London.
Other offices of the Romanian Cultural Institute, including ICR Madrid, ICR Paris, ICR Stockholm, and ICR Tel Aviv, have also prepared special events for the Romanian Language Day. Further details are available here.
