Fashion brand COS, part of the Swedish fashion retailer H&M group, opened its first store in Bucharest on Friday, May 27.

The unit is located on Calea Victoriei avenue, in the center of Romania’s capital, and covers 639 sqm on two floors.

COS is a premium brand of H&M and targets clients with revenues above average. It was launched in 2007 and is the second biggest brand within the group in terms of sales after the H&M brand. Some 174 stores in 31 countries operate under the COS brand. The brands also has online stores in 19 countries.

Swedish group H&M had sales of EUR 22.6 billion in the fiscal year ended November 2015, up 19% year-on-year.

The group’s sales in Romania went up by 40%, reaching EUR 190 million. H&M has 42 stores in Romania.
