Romania's George Enescu Festival gets “for kids” version

15 March 2019

Children will be able to listen to the works of the great composers in a format adapted to their age for the first time at the George Enescu Festival in 2019.

George Enescu Children's Festival will be organized by the Comic Opera for Children in Bucharest, headed by famous soprano Felicia Filip, from August 31 to September 22, 2019. The concerts will take place in the four weekends of the official George Enescu Festival, namely August 31-September 1, September 7-8, September 14-15, and September 21-22. The age recommended for attenders is 3-12 years.

“Classical music has to be part of the contemporary world, as music generally does. We have set our ambitious goal of “normalizing classical music consumption,” said Mihai Constantinescu, director of the George Enescu International Music Festival.
