Family Frost drives its vending vans out of Romania after lower than expected sales

Family Frost, a vending vans retail company which had entered the local market in 2008, announced its exit from Romania due to lower than expected sales, according to Romanian newspaper Ziarul Financiar, quoting company representatives. The company, which was delivering ice-cream and frosted products out of yellow vans on the street, close to people's homes, had invested EUR 10 million in setting up the Romanian subsidiary. Family Frost was developed as a new home delivery service for ice-cream and frozen food.

The retail concept was a first on the Romanian market – the company had more than 100 vans which were selling in large neighborhoods or big cities in Romania. The company is active in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Portugal.

Family frost is part of the Eismann group. Active on the home delivery service segment. The group is doing business on nine markets in Europe. Eismann had bought Family frost International from Nestle group.
