DB Schenker consolidates service centers in Romania in one company

German group DB Schenker, one of the biggest logistics companies in the world, has consolidated the operations of its service centers in Romania in one single company.

The group merged its two local subsidiaries, DB Schenker Global Service Europe and the DB Schenker Global Business Services, which provide international operational support for DB Schenker, Arriva and DB Cargo, into a new company, DB Schenker GBS Bucharest, starting November 1.

“We consider this an important milestone for our company, ensuring more efficient workflows and more transparent communication, among the entire organization. We believe that this merger will help us grow faster and we will be able to move more of the DB group’s operations to Bucharest and deliver high quality services, together, as one big team”, Preslav Pavlov, Managing Director of DB Schenker GBS Bucharest.

DB Schenker Global Service Europe was launched in 2014, followed by DB Schenker Global Business Services in 2015. Both provide support for the DB group’s companies, in areas such as Finance & Accounting, Sales Support, Claims, HR Services, Logistics Support Operations, Master Data Management.

The new company resulted from the merger has over 1.100 employees.
