Andrei studied finance at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and started his journalism career in 2004 with Ziarul Financiar, the leading financial newspaper in Romania, where he worked for ten years, the last six of which as editor of the capital markets section. He joined the Romania-Insider.com team in 2014 as editor and became Editor-in-Chief in 2016. He currently oversees the daily content published on Romania-Insider.com and likes to stay up to date with everything relevant in business, politics, and life in Romania. Andrei lives with his family in the countryside in Northern Romania, where he built their own house. In his free time, he studies horticulture and tends to his family’s garden. Intel will invest several millions of euros into a software development center which will be located in Romania and which will initially hire a staff of 25, mainly focusing on the development of the MeeGo open-source platform. Intel Romania Software Development Center will initially work on the MeeGo platform, a joint project of The Linux Foundation, supported by Intel and Nokia.

It is for the first time when the quartet, made of Francesco Manara, Pierangelo Negri, Simonide Braconi and Massimo Polidori, leading performers of the La Scala di Milan orchestra ever holds a concert in Bucharest.

Romanian overdue payments on loans of at least RON 20,000 (around EUR 4,700) more than doubled to RON 14.6 billion (EUR 3.4 billion) in September compared to the same month last year, according to data from the Romanian Central Bank (BNR). Compared with August, overdue loan payments grew by 7.7 percent in September, data shows.

The Danube Strategy should be applied starting with the first half of next year, jointly with the other states in the region and the European Commission, but it requires solid projects, such as a network of highways, high-speed trains and flights, said Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc on Monday. "Sometimes it is easier to get from Bucharest to Paris, London or Brussels, than to have a direct connection with Sofia, Zagreb or Belgrade. This must change," said Boc speaking at the Danube Summit in Bucharest.
