Central Romania: Classical music festival in Sibiu marks Beethoven anniversary

This year’s edition of the Classics for Pleasure festival, held in Sibiu, marks 250 years since the birth of composer Ludwig Van Beethoven.

The festival takes place between August 13 and August 15, in Sibiu’s Grand Square (Piaţa Mare).

A concert dedicated to Beethoven takes place on August 14, while the traditional Proms of Delight concert is scheduled for the closing of the event, on August 15.

Artists such as Bianca Ionescu-Ballo, Gheorghe Costin, Florin Budnaru, Adrian Dumitru, Mihai Urzicana, Alexandru Ilie, and Constantin Adrian Grigore will perform at the event, alongside the Sibiu Philharmonic Orchestra.

Access to all the events is free of charge, in compliance with current sanitary rules.
