Bucharest – Prahova Valley road to get safety improvements with EUR 88 million

Romania will spend EUR 88 million, of which EUR 23.7 million coming from EU funding, on improving the infrastructure and safety on the national road DN 1, which links Bucharest to Prahova valley – the main mountain resorts and to the North – West of the country.

The latest safety audit for DN1 was created in 2005, covering the 2000-2004 period, when the road was found to be one of the most dangerous in the country, with the highest number of accidents and deaths caused by car accidents.
