21 May 2010

Bank branches will be closed on Monday, May 24th, the second Rusalii day, which is a free day by law in Romania. Read more about the Rusalii holiday here. Public institutions will also be closed down, the same as schools, the Romanian Post offices, Enel pay desks. You will be however able to pay your bills at the Payzone points across the city.

The upcoming three-day week-end is expected to trigger increasing traffic across the country, but drive carefully and not very fast, because the number of policemen has been increased to 1,800 for this week-end, so there will be more speed radars on the roads too.

Make sure to avoid the usual traffic jams peaks on the roads connecting Bucharest to the mountain areas and to the seaside.
