Another highway segment in Romania which should have been opened this year is due to be delayed, as the Transport Ministry has asked for the contract cancellation.

This time it involves the 6.5 kilometers of highway between Bucharest and Ploiesti, connecting the Bucharest ringroad and Moara Vlasiei. The country’s Transport Ministry has already send the cancelation notification to construction companies Pizzarotti and Tirrena Scavi.

Financing for this highway segment was close to zero in 2012 and 2013, and the deadline for finalizing the highway segment had already been pushed back to April 2015.
