IBM names former Xerox manager at helm of Romanian subsidiary

IBM Romania named Valeriu Nistor country sales director, according to company sources, quoted by Romanian business media. Nistor, former general manager of Xerox Romania and Austria, will run the local subsidiary of IBM Romania. He will replace Bogdan Balaci, who left the company in October 2012.

IBM also decided to cancel the country general manager position in Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia, and allow the country sales manager to run these subsidiaries. IBM Romania has 1,500 employees and a yearly turnover of some EUR 70 million.

Nistor ran Xerox Austria between 2004 and 2006, and Xerox Romania between 2001 and 2003, after starting his career with Xerox in 1997, as marketing manager. In 2007, he founded SOAR Management and Investitii, which specializes in crisis management and restructuring. Valeriu Nistor is a Polytechnics University graduate from 1991 and holds post-university degrees from the Academy of Economic Sciences (ASE) and Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris.
