Romanian tennis ace Horia Tecau and his Dutch teammate Jean-Julien Rojer qualified on Thursday in the final of the men’s doubles competition at the US Open tournament.

In the semifinals, the Romanian-Dutch duo defeated the Finish-Australian team made up of Henri Kontinen and John Peers 1-6, 7-6 (7/5), 7-5.

Tecau and Rojer will play the final today, September 8, against Spain’s Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez.

Horia Tecau will also play another semifinal today, in the mixed doubles competition. The Romanian and his American teammate Coco Vandeweghe will play against Swiss Martina Hingis and Brit Jamie Murray.

The 2017 US Open will end on Sunday, September 10.

Simona Halep, Romania’s best women’s tennis player, lost the US Open first round match to Russia’s Maria Sharapova. The Russian beat Halep 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 after a marathon two hours and 44 minutes.
