Romania’s tennis ace Horia Tecau plays two semifinals at US Open

Romanian tennis ace Horia Tecau will play two semifinals at US Open, the last Grand Slam of the year.

Tecau and his Dutch teammate Jean-Julien Rojer qualified on Tuesday in the semifinals of the men’s doubles competition at US Open. They won the match against the Jamie Murray/Bruno Soares duo (UK/Brazil) 6-1, 6-2.

In the semifinals, Tecau and Rojer will play against the Finish-Australian team made up of Henri Kontinen and John Peers.

Horia Tecau will also play the semifinal of the mixed doubles competition, together with his American teammate Coco Vandeweghe. They defeated the Timea Babos/Bruno Soares  (Hungary/Brazil) team on Tuesday 4-6, 6-1, 10-8, and will play the semifinal against Swiss Martina Hingis and Brit Jamie Murray.

The 2017 US Open will end on September 10.

Simona Halep, Romania’s best women's tennis player, lost the US Open first round match to Russia's Maria Sharapova. The Russian beat Halep 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 after a marathon two hours and 44 minutes.

Romanian tennis ace Horia Tecau will play two semifinals at US Open, the last Grand Slam of the year.

Tecau and his Dutch teammate Jean-Julien Rojer qualified on Tuesday in the semifinals of the men’s doubles competition at US Open. They won the match against the Jamie Murray/Bruno Soares duo (UK/Brazil) 6-1, 6-2.
