02 July 2018

The Romanian Government bought last week 400 packages including two dictionaries and a grammar book, 1,200 volumes in total.

The total value of this contract amounted to RON 52,400 (EUR 11,200), according to data presented by the Banii Nostri Facebook page, local Hotnews.ro reported.

The Government made the purchase through the electronic public procurement system SEAP. The packages include the Romanian language Explanatory Dictionary – DEX, the Orthographic, Orthoepic and Morphological Dictionary – DOOM and the Basic Grammar of the Romanian Language. All 400 packages need to be delivered to the Government’s headquarters.

The Government said it would donate some of the volumes to libraries in the Republic of Moldova as part of the actions to celebrate Romania’s Centennial while others will be used for protocol, according to Stirileprotv.ro.

This acquisition caused some buzz in social media as prime minister Viorica Dancila is known for her frequent mistakes.

The Government also bought 200 illustrated books that tell the stories of famous Romanian princes for RON 12,400 (EUR 2,600).
