Folk You alternative music festival comes to Bucharest’s Old Town, Romania

The second edition of the ‘Folk You’ festival will be held in the Historic Center of Bucharest, on September 14 and 15, starting at 18:00.

The first day will feature performances by Dinu Olăraşu, Alina Manole, Lavinia Răducanu & Taraful Rromak, Emeric Set, Mircea Baniciu, Nicu Alifantis & ZAN and Alternosfera.

On Saturday, September 15, there will be appearances by Fox Studis, Adrian Sărmăşan, Zoia Alecu, Ada Milea, Viţa de Vie, Florin Chilian, Taxi, Vama.

The Folk You festival came to Bucharest for the first time last year, bringing out thousands looking for original, non mainstream music. It started in 2005 on a small scale in Vama Veche as a little stand against the tacky and the fake in popular culture. Although folk music remains at the heart of the festival, other genres that have an original sound or message have since joined the movement.

Entry is free.
