Flanco hopes for EUR 10 mln Black Friday sales in Romania

21 November 2012

Romanian retailer Flanco estimates sales of some EUR 10 million during the Black Friday week-end, between November 23 and 25. The company added 100 sales consultants to its team in stores in order to cope with the higher demand and sales during the shopping spree.

Last year, its sales were under EUR 10 million, but the retailer increase in sales surface by 20 percent and learned from the first Black Friday experience in 2011, targeting on the products which sold best last year: flat screen TVs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, photo and video devices and home appliances.

Flanco and eMAG were the two companies which started the Black Friday craze in Romania too in 2011.

“It is a growth engine for the Romanian market, and it marks the starting point for the winter consumption increase. It is a win-win situation – consumers get good prices, retailers can sell on volumes and attract new clients, who might return,” said Violeta Luca, CEO of Flanco.

Black Friday - the last Friday in November – comes with discounts of up to 60 percent for Flanco.
