Enrico Macias performs for the first time in Romania this April

French singer Enrico Macias will perform in front of the Romanian public for the first time on April 30, starting 20.00 hours, at Sala Palatului in Bucharest. Macias' concert marks the beginning of the French Music Festival 2011, which will bring several famous French artists to Bucharest.

Macias will perform with a team of seven instrumentalists and will play songs from his new album, as well as famous, older songs, such as: "La femme de mon ami", "Le filles de mon pay", "Le Mendiant de l’amour", "Zingarella".

Enrico Macias has recently released the album "Voyage d’une melodie", which includes songs in several languages and with oriental influences.

Enrico Macias, by his real name Ghrenassia Gaston, was born in 1938 in Constantine and emigrated to Paris in 1961. His first album, “Adieu mon pays”, released in 1962, was very well received by the public. The song “J’ai quitte mon pays” became the anthem of the exiled from around the world. Macias was named “Ambassador of Peace” in 1997 by Kofi Annan, former UN secretary general.

Tickets for the concert in Bucharest can be purchased at Sala Palatului and online at biletoo.ro for RON 90, 150, 200, 250 or RON 300.
