Enel invests EUR 3 mln in Cotroceni transformation plant revamping

Italian energy supplier Enel has invested RON 14.5 million (EUR 3.1 million) in the first modernization stages of the Cotroceni transformation plant in Bucharest.

The project began in 2016 and has an estimated duration of three years. Its total value amounts to over RON 18 million (EUR 3.8 million).

The plant became operational in 1974. It serves the Grozavesti, Regie, Crangasi, Giulesti, Cotroceni, Panduri, Eroilor, Razoare, Iuliu Maniu and Drumul Sarii areas in Bucharest. The station supplies about 26,000 consumers, including households, businesses and consumers of strategic importance.

Enel entered the local market in 2005. It currently has over 3,100 employees in Romania. The company serves 2.8 million consumers in the Southern, South-Eastern and Western part of the country.
