The European Investment Bank (EIB) could grant a financing line to the Romanian Post, which has recently started a restructuring process.

Communications minister Lucian Sova and Romanian Post interim director Elena Petrascu talked yesterday with representatives of the European Investment Bank about the steps necessary to get the financing.

The postal operator’s board of directors has appointed Elena Petrascu as interim director at the beginning of this month, after revoking the general manager Rares Stanciu. The board also decided to cut off 56 management positions within the postal operator. This means monthly savings of over EUR 110,000 for the company.
