Romania's Anti-Corruption Directorate buys phone data extraction software

16 October 2017

Romania’s Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) has invested EUR 670,000 in new wiretapping and tracking systems.

DNA now has software that can unlock any phone from which it can extract contacts, pictures, messages, including those that have been deleted, reports Ziarul Financiar. The software can extract data from phones such as Apple, Alcatel, BlackBerry, Samsung, Sanyo, Sharp, Sony (SonyEricsson), as well as other devices.

DNA has requested that the software support at least 2,400 mobile device models to unlock passwords and screen pins and to bypass the security measures. The system purchased by DNA will be able to find a person's location even if the GPS is offline. The software can also recover deleted messages from phones or computers.
