Developer finishes work at Romanian tax agency ANAF's online store

28 April 2017

The online store of Romania’s tax agency ANAF has been developed and is awaiting a decision of the agency’s management regarding its implementation, Profit.ro reported.

ANAF sells the goods it confiscates in a network of stores throughout the country. The stores, which retail a variety of goods, from drinks to clothing, are popular because they often offer bargain prices. Last year, ANAF said it was looking into opening an online store to improve the way it makes use of its stock.

Cluj-based company Blugento has developed the online store of ANAF, free of charge. Company representatives told Profit.ro that the store is ready, and what is left is the uploading of a product portfolio and the launch decision. As with ANAF’s brick-and-mortar stores, the online one would have a large stock, affordable prices and a varied range of products.

“Once the products are added, the store can be launched,” Sandu Băbășan, CEO al Blugento Romania, told Profit.ro.

At the beginning, clients of the online store would need to pick up the products they purchase from ANAF deposits, where the payment would also be made. An online payment system and courier delivery will later go under consideration.

“In what concerns the project of the future ANAF online store, this is an objective of the agency. The opportunity, the implementation method and the deadline are the object of an analysis currently underway from the top management of ANAF,” representatives of the tax agency told Profit.ro.

ANAF also sells houses, cars, and expensive jewelry. In some cases where the tax agency was looking to recover damages brought to the state, it seized high-value buildings that it needs to make use of.
