The law had to be re-examined following a Constitutional Court ruling. The bill needs to be signed by Romanian president Traian Basescu. It includes the mandatory declaration of assets and interests by trade union leaders.

The Bucharest University will open on Wednesday, August 25, the Center for Japanese Studies, the first such center in Romania, aiming to promote and support the research activity in Japanese studies. The project benefits from the support from the Japanese Government and from several Japanese NGOs. The center will provide the tools for research projects on Japan and training for researchers in Japanese studies.

A new relaxation and concert area called Little Riviera (Mica Riviera) opened last week-end near Unirii Square in Bucharest. The relaxation area, a project created by the Bucharest city hall, is across the street from Unirea Shopping Center, near Dambovita river.

Young doctors used to ask for permits to work abroad in the previous years, but the trend has changed and more doctors over 30 are applying to work abroad.

The two also took the fourth place in the 200 m competition. Victor Mihalachi is 22 years old while Liviu Dumitrescu, 23.
